The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. Players control Eric, Baleog, and Olaf, each with unique skills: Eric jumps and charges, Baleog attacks enemies and breaks obstacles, and Olaf uses a shield to block attacks and act as a platform. Progress depends on solving stage puzzles with switches, lifts, teleporters, traps, and enemies. All three Vikings must reach the exit, so the player constantly switches between them and uses one character to protect, lift, or enable the others.

In tricky sections, secure a safe route first and then bring the other Vikings through one by one. Keep the group separated only when necessary, and avoid wasting health on reckless jumps or unnecessary fights.
