You explore the Hoenn region from an overhead perspective and fight wild Pokémon and trainers in turn-based battles. In this mod, grass encounters, gifts, trainer teams, movepools, and abilities can be randomized, and in some cases type interactions may also be altered. Progress still follows the original badge, story, and League structure, but team building is far less scripted, so players must constantly adjust party roles, items, and battle plans to whatever appears next.
Keep early access to general-purpose attacks and recovery items instead of relying on one type matchup. Read the opponent’s actual moves rather than assuming standard type logic if matchups are randomized. Build around fast, durable Pokémon with broad coverage and at least one reliable status cure or emergency pivot. In very unstable runs, catching something that simply survives is often more valuable than waiting for the “best” possible team member.
